HI there,

When logging into NeoRouter Explorer, we're prompted to either put in a domain name or IP address. Would it be any better to put in the ip address in terms of performance? Like getting a lower ping time.

I have these 2 locations which are in close proximity, if I ping each other's WAN IP i get sub 100ms results, but through NeoRouter i'd be getting about 500-800ms ping times.

Is there a way to tell if the peers are directly connected to each other or via one of your servers? Previously I used Hamachi and they would indicate if it's a direct tunnel or relayed tunnel. Any way of knowing that with NeoRouter?

Thank you.

Hi atty,

Using IP to sign in can speed up the sign in process, but does not affect connection performance between clients.

However, it seems something wrong with your network, as the 500ms is too much overhead. Generally it should have been like this.

Please turn off other VPN while testing NR , as NR may build tunnel over them and much more slower than it should be.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team

Ya that could be it, as there's also hamachi installed.

Thanks Kevinz. Appreciate it.
