Hi, Is anyone else having problems connecting to other computers on your neorouter network after windows 10 upgrade 1803? Two of my computers have upgraded and ever since have not been able to ping or VNC connect to or from those computers. Looking at the network explorer shows that they are connected.

Yes, all of my Windows 10 nodes have a problem with NR service after upgrade.
The only solution for me is manually click "File -> Connection -> ОК" in NR network explorer, then wait a few minutes for service is restarted and connection established. But unfortunately you can't trigger an each remote the same way by yourself.
Anyway, after some time failure happens again.

Hi all,

With Windows 10 1803 release, something new delays or blocks netsh command to activate network interface when OS starting. It causes NR network adapter failed to activated until all dependent system services get started.

Here is a workaround and tested against Win 10 Enterprise 1803:

Assume you have NR client installed and signed in to the NR server. Since the Windows has booted when installing a NR package, you can successfully sign in to NR server without issue. Then follow the steps below:

1. Go to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Change adapter settings, look for NeoRouter Connection (NeoRouter Virtual Network Interface)

2. Right click on the adapter and choose Properties menu item, then click on "Configure..." button

3. In the NeoRouter Virtual Network Interface Properties dialogbox, choose Advanced tab, in the list, choose, Media Status, then change the dropdown list on the right from "Application Controlled" to "Always Connected"

4. Click "OK" button to save the changes.

Let us know if you still have the issue.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team

Hi all,

Kevin, thanks for your workaround. It helped somewhat. Now I can ping my other peers from the computer running Windows 10, Version 1803(OS Build 17134.48). Accessing their shared folders from this particular peer though, does not work. My other peers run WindowsXP. They successfully access the Win10 peer shared folders. Seems like a one-way access.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Hi all,

I have severe problems with this new 1803 build update... I updated it via regular Windows update and I get nothing but trouble with it so far.

First, the UAC ( user account control) didn't work properly which works later, now Windows defender keeps telling me that there is an issue and I need to restart but when I do the issue seems to be still there.

And now when I try to save a screenshot it tells me that it's not there... Well obviously because I just made the picture and I want to save it MS!

Is there a way I can fix this without reinstalling everything? This is very frustrating as I am not able to use my system now to the fully 100% which is very annoying.

My issue is after the update 1803, my neouter client is not starting up automatically. I have to manually start the neorouter after windows 10 finishes booting up. Anyone have issues or solution for this?

Same here on 1 of 2 tested clients. Just tried once, since when it's running its fine to me.
