Hi

I'm trying to install on Fedora Core 5 It installed OK but when trying to start service I get a "cannot open shared library libssl.so.0.9.8" I do have openssl installed and libssl.so.0.9.8b is there I tried copying it to libssl.so.0.9.8 but then says no version info.

Any help on this would be appreciated

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Thank you for using NeoRouter. Please try the following:
Code:
    cd /lib
    ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.8b libcrypto.so.0.9.8
    ln -s libssl.so.0.9.8b libssl.so.0.9.8
    sudo neorouter or reboot

You can ignore "no version information available (required by neorouter)" warnings, and it should not prevent neorouter from starting.
If you see an error message like "neorouter failed to start due to error xxxxxxxx", then please provide the error code.

Thanks,
Luke - NeoRouter team

hi,
I have the same warnings for libssl.so.0.9.8 and libcrypto.so.0.9.8, but after this neourouter failed to strat due to error -2147024798.

my environment is a standard RHEL4 distro where I upgraded (forcing the rpm -U) both libssl and glibc because they were old versions.

can anybody help?

thank you

Hi

I finally got the server to run after creating the links. However I do not know what to do next. What is the command to use to setup the server configuration ?? It does not mention it in the wiki and I am unable to login from a Windows box on the same Lan.

Thanks

Hi daveh,

Once you get the Server on the Linux box run, you can install the NeoRouter Client for Windows on a separate Windows machine. After installation, you can run the NeoRouter Configuration Explorer to config the Server. Log in using:

User: (your linux user account)
Password: (your linux user password)
Log on to: Please use Linux box IP address here so far, for example: 192.168.1.100

Once you get in, go to the "Settings" tab and create a new domain or select an existing domain you created before.

NOTE: Please configure your router to expose the Server's listening port by setting port forwarding. Default port is 32976.

From now on, you can start using domain name to access your server from either Configuration Explorer or Network Explorer.

Let us know if you still have problem.

Thanks,
KevinZ

Hi

Well my neorouter server apparently silently crashed and now when I try to restart neorouter I get a Symbol BIO_Test_flags version OPENSSL_0.9.8 not defined in file libcrypto.so.0.9.8 with link time reference. I even tried downloading the libraries libcrypto.so.0.9.8 and libssl.so.0.9.8 and copying them top /lib I still get the same result the server starts and then dies.

Hi Dave,

neorouter is compiled/built using openssl 0.9.8g. I guess openssl 0.9.8b is not compatible. Please try upgrading openssl and see if it fixes the issue.
