Hi Team,
I have installed the neorouter 1.7 . While installating I have checked the neorouter server and the neorouter network explorer, But the installation setup is not asking for user creation and Domain creation details (where neorouter 1.5 is asking for those details). Can you please explain tell me how to configure the neorouter 1.7 as a server.

Regards,
Rajesh

Hi rajesh2uu,

When you install NR server on a Windows computer, may ask you for specifying a domain name and creating an user account. BUT, if you had installed the NR server before, i.e. the NR database exists in the main configuration folder, it will ignore these steps and use the existing settings in the database. If you want to reset it, uninstall the NR server using the uninstaller and click on "Yes" button when it asks you to delete all generated files. OR you can also go to the main configuration folder and delete the database file and re-install it again.

If you install NR server on other OS, the installer won't ask you for this. You can run the NeoRouter Free Configuration Explorer web app and log on using the OS' account to setup your server. You can also use the nrserver CLI commands to setup domain and create user account. (For details, please take a look at the user manual)

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team

Hi Team,
I have installed the Neorouter 1.7 on new windows 2003 operating system.
But it is not asking for Domain and account information to run as a server.

I have also tried uninstalling and deleting the conf files of the Neorouter 1.5 on existing windows xp machine, but Neorouter 1.7 is not asking domain information to run as a server.

I tried multiple times uninstalling/reinstalling by deleting the configuration files, but no success.

Could you please help me to find out the problem?

Regards,
Rajesh

Hi rajesh2uu,

Did you see the nrserver.exe installed on the installation folder? Does the installation process complete?

Thanks,

Hi Team,
Yes, the installation is successful. I could see the NRserver.exe(not nserver.exe) is available in the installation folder. But I am not able to find the problem :(

Rajesh

Sorry for my typo, it's nrserver.exe.

On Windows 2003, the database file (NeoRouter_0_0_1.db) must be located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ZebraNetworkSystems\NeoRouter

Would you double-check the folder see if the file exists? or is there any other files there?

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team
