Post subject:  High bandwidth usage from Neorouter server

Hello

I have the latest Neorouter server installed on a ubuntu 12.04LTS machine.
From this server I am managing 20 computers on different locations mainly for remote access (rdp, vnc etc).
The server is using an ADSL line with 15Mbps download and 1Mbps upload.
I have noticed that during the day the server starts to occupy all available upload bandwidth of the adsl line (1Mbps).During this period I cannot connect to any of remote computers (no ping at all or very high latency).
I have to reboot the server (or restart the NR service), but after some time the same thing happens again.
Do you have any idea why this happens?

P.S
My firewall is a pfSense box.

Thank you

Hi acidrop,

Please try to setup the "Packet Filtering" to filter out broadcast messages and ipv6 messages, if you use NR Pro. In most cases, those messages will be passed to all nodes in the VLAN.

If you use NR Free, you have to investigate what type of messages they are and block them from the source (client site) using OS firewall.

Or you may want to setup traffic control in the server machine.

Thanks,
Kevin
