Hello,
I have installed NeoRouter Server free edition to Ubuntu 12.04 and connected several different clients to it (Windows, linux, android). That server is on public IP, on another device (connected as NeoRouter Client) I have an IP camera that I want to make available via public IP.
I've managed to make it available locally on 10.0.0.5:554 and all connected NR clients can access it, but I don't know how to access that address from server? When I try to ping 10.0.0.5 from server, I get "Time to live exceeded".
I even tried to install nrclient together with nrserver and the server appeared in list of clients, but I can't access it from other client computers (tried to browse server via web browser, ping it... but no luck). Also, when I installed client I expected the nrtap interface to appear in list of interfaces, but ifconfig does not show it.
What is the best practice for nrclient/nrserver communication?

Thank you,
Miljan

Hi thebata,

All NR clients established a virtual LAN and they can access each other. After installing a NR client, you may want to sign in to the NR server to register it, so that it can be shown in the computer list. Once a computer/device registered to the NR server successfully, it will be assigned a virtual IP address and bind it to the nrtap device. If you didn't see it after signed in, make sure you have permission to load the tun/tap driver on linux. (If you use VPS, ask the provider to give you permission to create the device)

To access your IP camera (assume you cannot install NR client on it), you may need a proxy server (running on a device having NR client installed), then all NR clients can access the IP camera over the proxy.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team
