Me and my friends use NR for gaming purposes, yesterday I've bought a new PC to act as 24/7 server for NR and some other things. Now I wondering how can I move existing installation of NR server to this machine?

Both machines(the currently running NR server and the new one) have windows 7 x64 as their OS.

p.s.: sorry in advance for my english, it's quite bad

Hi jet800,

You follow the steps below:

1.Go to the current computer and stop the NRServer service from the services.msc

2.It is WinXp, you may want to backup the folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ZebraNetworkSystems\NeoRouter

On other OS, it may be different.

3. Install the NR Server on your new computer, stop the NRService from services.msc, then copy the files you backup to the same folder on your new computer, it may overwrite your existing files.

4. Star the NRService on your new computer.

5. Uninstall the old server or delete the folder stored database files.

Note:Do not run several NR Servers with the same database file in the same time, or it may cause problem.

BTW, NRServer will load all data from the file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ZebraNetworkSystems\NeoRouter\NeoRouter_0_0_1.db database when it starts. The rest files are setting files.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team

Sounds like I thought, I did it, but I can't log into configuration manager on the new server neither via localhost(127.0.0.1) or domain name. I'll try over and see if it works. May be I missed something :)

Oh, and thank for response :)

UPD: It works as it should :) Thanks again

I'm trying to do this as well - Move the NRServer to a client with more bandwidth.

I'm switching from a Linux Server to a Windows Server. I kill the nrserver on the Linux box and zipped up the files in /usr/local/ZebraNetworkSystems/.

Next I went to the Windows Server stopped all NR Services and put the ZebraNetworkSystems folder in /Users/All Users/, then I rebooted the server.

When I try and connect with my Administrator account both the one I created on the Windows Server Install and the One I transferred from the Linux Install. I get Username's and passwords don't match.

Thanks for your help in Advance.

You can try to run Configuration Explorer to log on the it with properly NR user accounts, see if it works. To figure out the issue, you can log ong to the local IP address with port number.

Btw, NR does not recognize Windows accounts. On other platforms, you can use the OS accounts and NR will migrate them to the NR accounts automatically.

Thanks,

I did finally get this.. Thanks so much for the great product.

I was finally successful when I followed these steps

1. Uninstalled the Linux Server
2. Rebooted the Linux Server
3. Compressed the /usr/local/Zebra Network Systems/NeoRouter/NeoRouter_0_0_1.db
4. Copied to Windows Server with No NeoRouter Installed
5. Uncompressed it to the C:\Users\All Users\Zebra Network Systems\NeoRouter\NeoRouter_0_0_1.db
6. Installed NeoRouter Server
7. Rebooted the Windows Server

That seemed to work all my clients connected right away and I just had to run nrclient on the old server to hook to the new server. It didn't work when I tried installing it and then moving the database in, it worked when you do it beforehand.
