My modem IP gateway is 97.76.34.165
My static IP is 97.76.34.166 - but this is reserved for later
My current dynamic IP is 172.16.1.10
My Belkin router IP is 192.168.2.1

Port forwarding of TCP 32976 is set to 192.168.2.2. The router will not let me change anything other than the last number unless I change their default LAN IP address, which I am hesitant to do.

If I set the router up as static with 97.76.34.166, NR lets me in. But I am saving this address for a video camera which will be installed shortly.

If I set the router up as dynamic with 172.16.1.10, NR won't let me in. What do I need to do to be able to use a dynamic IP? I thought NR supported dynamic IPs.

Hi lhea,

I'm afraied that I didn't fully understand your question. I cannot figure out where does the 172.16.1.10 comes from? It would be better to give a simple graph about your network structure.

A standard usage would be like this:

Internet <--> Modem/Router1 <--> Computers

or may be Internet <--> Modem/Router1 <--> Router2 <--> .. <--> Computers

In either way, please make sure set port forwarding properly on each routers between the computer (installed NR server) and the Internet. Of cause, if you install our in-a-box version on the first level router, no need to change anything.

Let us know if you still have problem.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team
