Post subject:  NR setup in a small homebiz network

Hi all,

I have NR Server setup on an Ubuntu 9.01 (JJ) box - I named it dev1 and have 4 Windows machines (dev2-dev5) on my local network.

I can connect to the NR server and see the connected icon and had the following questions:

1. Can I access Dev1 or use that a file server? I cannot add dev1 to "my computers" in NR explorer. If so how?

2. I also want to use dev1 as a file server to save/backup files from across the network and vice versa i.e. copy from dev1 to dev2-5. Please suggest how I should go about it.

Thanks for a wonderful tool! This is really awesome!

It seems you need NR client for Linux on dev1 machine in order to make this work. If a computer has only NR server but not NR client, then it is not part of the "virtual" LAN, so you cannot access the files on it.

Porting NR client to Linux and OSX is a project that we are currently working on. We will keep you updated of the status in our forum and twitter.

Thanks for your interest in NeoRouter.
