Hi ElTopo,

Your testing 1,2,3 are good. nrservice should create new log every time resumes; nrclient keeps logging to the same log.

I noticed the log you attached showing it sleep/wakeup twice, it was wrong. When continues, it should have started a new nrservice process, which would stop the old nrservice. Obviously, it didn't and the old nrserivce was running.

I have a similar machine and it works well. I still cannot repro it yet. I'll investigate it.

Let us know if you have more information.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team

I've seen similar problems on 2 machines, one 64-bit Windows 7, another an XP 32-bit machine, both with the current version of the client.
Going into task manager and killing the machine resolved the issue. I haven't seen it yet on my newest machine which has sufficient memory to not hit virtual memory, and I do wonder whether there is something to do with paging the service out of memory going on. In any case, despite the issue having been reported some time ago, to me it appears to still be a current issue.

I still have this problem with the latest version (1.1.4). I even wrote a batch script to kill nrservice.exe and restart it. This "resuming" issue does not always happen, but I did see it happened on all my systems, from the fastest Win7 x64 (with 4GB RAM, over 50% free) to the oldest WinXP (480MB RAM).

I suspect that NRService.exe might not handle WM_POWERBROADCAST when system goes to hibernation.

I also have hamachi running in my systems, hemachi never had this issue (when NRService resuming happened).

HI ElTopo,

The issue gets fixed in the latest build NR Free v1.3.0. Please give it a try.

Thanks,

I'm experiencing this problem with version 1.3.0.2526 on a Windows 7 (64 bit) machine. I've enabled logging and will post the log next time it occurs.

I enabled logging then stopped and restarted the service. The problem reoccurred and I was unable to find a log file. I double checked logging to make sure it was enabled and again stopped and restarted the service.

The problem has reoccurred multiple times (right now Network Explorer has been showing "Reconnecting to Neorouter" for the past 20 minutes) but I have been unable to find a log file for Neorouter (with the exception of "install.log") anywhere on the disk.

Am I missing a step?

Hi raincity,

Just want to let you know that I've never seen this problem since 1.3.0. Hope your issue gets solved as soon as possible.
