I recently installed nrservice on my 32bit Ubuntu openVZ vps. The service itself is installed and running fine, but won't connect to any hosts and no other hosts on the vpn will connect to it. Running ifconfig shows that there is no nrtap installed.

Any possible solutions? Could it be a limitation of openVZ?

Hi dark12222000,

I believe it's the limitation of your vps provider. Ask them see if they allow you to use tun device.

I had the same issue on a hosted VPS running OpenVZ.

I contacted customer service requesting Tun/TAP access to be enabled and included a link showing the process (based on KevinZ's advice and other links online, ie OpenVZ's tun/tap docs). They had it solved in a couple days.

My understanding is that Xen hosting has easier access to these functions (as a user) compared to OpenVZ. But customer service has the ability to enable it.

Good luck and YMMV.
