My setup on my personal network:

Server: Windows Server 2008 r2 SP1 (on 24/7)

Client: Windows Server 2008 r2 SP1 (The server)
Client: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (Desktop, on same LAN as server)
Client: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (Laptop)

When I log in to the NR server remotely from the laptop, it lets me in and I can see my clients. However every 20 seconds or so it kicks me out and says Reconnecting Then after a couple seconds it's back. I can see everything long enough to successfully wake up a sleeping client but if I try to Remote Desktop to any of them it fails to establish.

Any ideas?

Hi anstosa,

Seems two NR client/portable/CLI connect to the same NR server. Please verify there is only one client (NR client or NR portable or CLI) connecting to a NR server at the same time. The previous one will be kicked off when the second instance starts and the previous one may reconnect to the server after 20s and kick off the second one...

Thanks,

Confirmed that there are no other client processes running and I still can't get in. When I try to RD into another computer it says "This computer can't connect to the remote computer"

It's also still cycling the connection. Are these two problems related? Do I have to stop all the NRClient Services too? I assume those are necessary.

Hi anstosa,

Are you using virtual machines? Sometimes the VMs having the same MAC address, which may cause problem as well.

To troubleshoot, you can stop the NR client services, see which one conflicts with your laptop.

You can also collect the log file of the NR service and send it to us, we will help you out.

Thanks,

Thanks, I'll try shutting down the client services one at a time and see if that helps. Where can I find the log files?
