Hi lautaro,
Thanks for your report.
I investigated your log files, it looks like the issue would be caused by your busy system or unstable network.
Take a look at the server's log file: NRServer_20120119_124141.log, you will find there are a lot of lines of " CHeartBeat::TimerCallback: network disconnected" and there a lot of error -2147014843. This means your network suddenly gets broken, instead of normal socket close. This would be network outage or network cable unplugged.
From the server's log file above and the nrservice log file NRService_20120119_124432.log, I found:
a. the NR client came cross the network problem with NR server at 2012-01-19 15:45:58,562 and got error "Receive hit error -2147014843". So it reconnected to the server.
b.On the server side, I can see many connection tunnels have heart beat timeout (from 2012-01-19 15:42:59 to 2012-01-19 15:44:48) and closed the sockets, including the NR client. The client finally gets released around 2012-01-19 15:44:48,500.
Similar issues can be seen in other log files as well.
So I'm guessing:
1. At the moment the CPU would be very busy and NR server is running slow, finally cause the heart beat timeout
2. Network bandwidth is not good enough for so many clients. If you don't have any traffic control software to control the network usage and some clients can use as much network bandwidth as possible. This would finally cause some other connections slow enough. Of cause, it is also depends on what application are you running over the virtual network.
3. NR Free does not have packet filtering feature, it means all broadcast packets will be sent cross your virtual network, or say the 100+ clients. This can be huge traffic. Please use some tool like ethereal to monitor the what kind of packets are passed through your network.
4. NR Free 1.5 is old, which has some critical bugs we've fixed in the latest NR Pro/Mesh. We will upgrade NR Free in a month. However, based on your log files, I didn't see your server/client hit the known bugs.
So please investigate your system and network, including CPU usage, network usage and so on. You can disable the NR heart beat mechanism by setting the parameters TcpHeartBeat=0 and UdpHeartBeat=0 in the Feature.ini file. For more information, please refer to
