I cannot repro your issue in our lab. It works out of box on my clean opensuse 11.2.
I downloaded the image openSUSE-11.2-DVD-x86_64.iso from opensuse website and installed it with the default options. I didn't do upgrade or something special.
Then I log on as root and download the package from NeoRouter download site. I install the nrclient package using the GUI tool directly. After installation, open the terminal and run nrclientcmd to log on to the server to register the new box.
It does complain about the "no version info", but it's just a warning and works well. I didn't create the symbol link like I told you before, as it works.
