Post subject:  Remote copy
I have a specific need to be able to connect to a remote Windows machine and copy files from one place to another WITHOUT controlling the machine (so no RDP or vnc).

Using VPN shares doesn't work because the files are moving between drives on the remote machine so end up being copied over the VPN to the local machine than back over the VPN to the remote machine. The quantity of data involved makes this unusable.

How would I go about making a NeoRouter add-on to let me do this? Mostly I need the "how to make a NeoRouter add-on part", not the whole app - but I wouldn't turn down suggestions. :-)

To copy large files across Internet, you can try robocopy:

To backup files, you can use rsync or synctoy.
