I am just starting to use NeoRouter, and like it, does exactly what i want.

I will be needing to roll this out to several hundred Ubuntu devices, and from what i have seen so far, the installation and configuration is a manual process.

Is there any way to automate the initial 'nrclientcmd' to connect to the Domain/VPN for the first time? Is all the information simply in the Client.xml file? Can this be auto-generated by a tool?

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi robina,

NeoRouter for linux does not call nrclientcmd automatically. You may want to run it manually at least once to register a new computer. At the first logon to the server, nrservice creates the client.xml file. Please don't modify it, as nrservice will read it later. For each computer, the primary network adapter (MAC address) will be used for identifying the unique computer on the server side. If you use VM, please make sure the MAC is valid.

Thanks for the documentation on the 'nrclientcmd' command, but from what i can see it doesn't support 'addcomputer' from the commandline right? I mean, i can pass it the domain, the username and the password, but not a command?

Which would mean to deploy this on 200 devices, i would have to login to the 200 devices and manually run the 'nrcclientcmd' to register each computer. Correct?

Hence my asking - is there a way to automate the installation and configuration of the NeoRouter Linux Client?
