Hi ricky-koeln,
There would be two issues with your VPS.
1.Permission to access /dev/net/tun, which is mandatory for NR client service.
Please check out here:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4540I think this is the root reason you cannot ping so far. If you can help collect log, we can confirm the issue.
2.In this kind of virtualized machine, I would recommend to use the parameter "HardwareId" instead of "NicInterfaceName", as the venet0 always has the same HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 . If you have another VM, which will have the same HWaddr, this will cause NR clients keep trying log on one over another.
NR client uses a unique identifier for each computer/device. Without a valid ID, NR client service won't be able to connect to NR server and you won't see it in your computer list.
On Linux, it uses MAC as the default ID. You can also specify any adapter name by setting "NicInterfaceName", but the MAC must be unique. Or you can specify the ID manually by setting the "HardwareId" parameter.
