Hope some one will help me about this problem. I have installed server on windows XP workstation and client on mac. Both computers are able to connect to domain as well. While i try to screenshare i can do that fine from windows to mac but when i try to do file share from mac it asking for user name and password but dont know what user name and password should i use.

So can some one tell me the correct procedure of file sharing (do i needs to install extra addons for this ?).

Should be the username/password of the Windows user having permission to the shared folder.

Basic steps for access shared folder from mac:

1. Click Go – Connect to Server on Finder menu.

2. And type smb://destination_computer_name or smb://destination_computer_ip_address on the Server Address input, for example : smb://server-sql or smb://192.168.1.1.

3. You can add the address to your list with click the + button.

4. And it is connecting…

5. If you’re access that folder for the first time you will confirm for the Workgroup name, User name and Password and just fill it with your office Workgroup name and user name/password fill with user name that registered in destination computer (Windows user name).

I have tried as you mentioned but still it come up with the same Invalid Username and Password. I am entering the username and password that i have for Windows password (Windows xp which have remote server installed in it).

So any other advise ? While i try to do remote control from mac it giving me another window to choose the remote desktop client, So is that something i needs to install in mac to do remote desktop windows computer ?

Yes. You may want to install the Microsoft remote desktop connection client before remotely connecting to a Windows machine.
