As one of the dev's pointed out to me, OpenVPN works inside jails once you expose the tun device to the jail. I am trying to get the nrservice to run inside the jail and have tried the OpenVPN trickery by modifying devfs.rules for the jail but it still will not start. Wondering if anyone else has tried this and managed to successfully get it working?

I have followed this post on the FreeBSD forums and the included links at the bottom as well for OpenVPN to attempt to get it to work:

However I still get the usual:

Quote:
/usr/local/bin/nrservice failed to start due to error -2147024894.

Update:

I can get the nrservice to start in the jail and register as long as it is not started in the host.

Sorry if I wasted forum space but following the link below and giving jails access to the /dev/tap device will allow the jail to connect.

Now I just need to work out the routing issues with it. Registering the jail if the nrserver service is on the jail host confuses things and the traffic gets routed to the host and not the jail.
