Hi,
I have set up a NR server on WXP and a client on OpenSuSe 12.1x64. No issues during installation on both.
Router has been UPnP enabled and port forwarded to server IP.
After solving hairpin issue I can connect and see both systems in NR Network Explorer.
Server NR assigned address is 10.0.0.2/8, client 10.0.0.2/8.
Nevertheless, I can do nothing with them. No ping, no remote access. Nevertheless, on Linux box I can ping local NR address 10.0.0.2, while on WXP server I cannot do the same by pinging 10.0.0.1.
I noticed that NR adapter on WXP server has a strange address 169.254.223.99/16 assigned by DHCP: this sounds like a fallback address.
This way NR is useless: has perhaps somebody fallen in the same trap?
Thanks in advance for help!

Update
Trying to get the stuff working, I forced address on router's NR network adapter to 10.0.0.1 and restarted both NR client and server services.
Now I can ping both ways, but I can get remote access (VNC) to server from client, but not from server to client. The latter can be a local issue I'm investigating.
I wonder why I should force the address on the server.
Advice sought, thanks in advance!

Hi lsalv,

Based on your description, it looks like NR client service does not assign the virtual IP address to the Wxp server properly. There would be various factors.

It would better to double check the the driver status on your WXP server.

Code:
"C:\Program Files\ZebraNetworkSystems\NeoRouter\Driver\tapinstall" status nrtap

If it shows "running", then try to run "netsh" in a Command Prompt see if it exists.

If everything is fine, try to restart the NR client service on the box to test it again.

If there is still problem, please help collect log file and send it to us, so that we can help you figure out.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team
