Hello,

I quite enjoy using NeoRouter so I decided to flash the Tomato version on my Asus WL520GU router. As it was already running Tomato 1.28 I figured it would be a slam dunk.

After the flash, everything works exactly as before except for the NeoRouter daemon. I'm getting the "[DB] unable to open database file" message when trying to run the start command.

I must be missing something, since this firmware was tested on the WL520GU with up to 30 clients.

Regards,
-int15

hi int15,

Thanks for using NeoRouter.
Can you run "df" command and see how much space is left on /jffs?

Thanks,
Luke

Luke,

Thanks for the reply. Here's the output of the "df" command.

Hi int15,

When you tested the router with 30 clients, which version of nrserver did you use?
Can you delete NeoRouter_0_0_1.db and try launch again? This will help us rule out whether the file is corrupted. nrserver will create a new db.
We highly recommend tomato users to use a router with 8MB flash. As we add more features to nrserver, it grows in size as well, unfortunately. We had received reports that 4MB routers ran out of space. If you are not ready to upgrade router yet, you can also try OpenWRT instead.

Thanks,
Luke

Luke,

Sorry for the late reply. I wasn't running NR with 30 clients personally, I just saw a comment about it supporting up to 30 clients on an Asus WL520U.

I tried the OpenWRT version but was still unsuccessful. Since this is all to remotely connect to one specific computer, I went bat to having NR server running on that computer and this works like a charm.

Regards,
Int15

hi int15,

The post about 30 clients on WL520U was from more than a year ago. I do not think the device can still install be used with the latest NeoRouter for tomato build. NeoRouter for tomato requires 8MB of flash.
You should be able to install OpenWRT + NeoRouter server on the device. What error do you see?

Thanks,
Luke

Oh I see, fair enough then.

I'll have to re-flash OpenWRT to get the error, I deleted the screenshot. I'll try to do this over the weekend.

Thanks for your patience,
int15
