I was attempting to upgrade to nrserver-1.6.3.3150-pro-ububtu-i386.deb and could not remove the old nrserver file. Even as root, I get a permission error. I can't uninstall the old package (sudo dpkg -r nrserver) or install the new package.

I'm running Ubuntu 10.0.4.LTS and have never had an issue until now. I've tried to force remove the file (rm -f filename) and still get a permission error.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as I'm out of options now.

Thanks.

Hi robwmc,

It's more like the issue with the dpkg command. It needs to require a lock from the system before uninstall it. Or the dpkg command is not an executable?

Would you try to run some other packages see if it work?

Thanks,
