Hi,

I just install neorouter server (neorouter-0.9-4.906.i386.deb) on my debian Linux box, and it's running and listening to port 32976, unfortunately my system administrator only allows my debian to use port 9000-9009 (port forwarding). I am wondering how can I change the default listening port? and, does the portable neorouterviewer.exe allow me to connect to a server at port other than 32976?

Thanks!

HI ElTopo,

Thanks for using NeoRouter.

The current version of NeoRouter for Linux and in-a-box does not allow user change the listening port.

We will fix this in the next build. Coming soon.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team

I installed neorouter-0.9.5.992-ubuntu-i386.deb but could not find any document about changing server listening port, can you show me how?

Thanks!

HI ElTopo,

To change the listening port on Linux or in-a-box, you can run Configuration Explorer. Go to "Settings"->"Server", click on the "Change Port" button. After change it, click on "OK" button to save it to the server database.

Now you have to restart the NeoRouter server manually if it's not on the same computer.

For either Linux or in-a-box version, you have to log on the the box, and run:

Code:
/etc/init.d/neorouter.sh stop
/etc/init.d/neorouter.sh start

Or simple reboot the box after you quit from the Configuration Explorer.

NOTE:
1. you have a time window (about 1 hour) to restart the NeoRouter service after changing, or it will be changed back automatically.

2. you may want to change the firewall settings or port forwarding for the new port on your home router.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team
