Post subject:  Best way to update NeoRouter on Linux?

Hello,

I have Linux box (actually, it's odroid-c2 with neorouter on it) which I would like to update.
I want to know what's the best way to update and to keep all configurations.
I have people that depend on my VPN, and a lot of them. I would be sad if it would break or I would need to reconnect them all.

Thanks.

Hi BiceBolje,

Upgrade process is simple: (there will be several min down time)

1. Stop the NR server
2. Backup the main config folder: /usr/local/ZebraNetworkSystems
3. Install the new package (force overwrite) NR server will automatically start after installation.
4. Check the nrserver process see if up and running, just in case.

Note:
1.All of the settings are stored in the database file located in the main config folder. Usually upgrade won't change it, backup just in case.
2.After upgrade, all NR clients will automatically reconnect to the NR server when it started.

Let us know if you have any question or concern.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team

What are you upgrading from and to?

There hasn't been an update to linux free in over 2.5 years, despite highly insecure SSLv3 bugs.
