I tried installing newly released NeoRouter for Chaos Calmer on LEDE 17.0.4 but It seems that can't be done?
Just says this:

Collected errors:
* pkg_init_from_file: Malformed package file /tmp/nr.ipk.

Hi BiceBolje,

Thanks for your post.

What device (model) do you use? What version of NR did you install? NR support CC for mipsel, x86, ar71xx and ramips. Other devices are not supported. Though LEDE is from OpenWrt, we didn't test against it. If you can provide the detailed information, we can try to help you out.

Thanks,
KevinZ - NeoRouter team

I was in a hurry, so didn't post details.

But here we go. I used the Client for Chaos Calmer (ar71xx)
My device is TP-Link 842ND v2, running latest LEDE version.
I was running Chaos Calmer before that but didn't test.

PS. Is new version for Linux around the corner somewhere? :)

Hi BiceBolje,

Seems like LEDE doesn't share packages with the latest OpenWrt CC anymore. NR for CC may not work on LEDE.

The latest Linux builds are coming soon.

Thanks,

Hi, i tried the new version "in-a-box" on lede and i don't think it's working. both on ar71xx and ramips. Not able to start nrservice/client. neither installing it from ipk.

i think lede uses mips_24kc, as seen on this page:
lede-project.org/docs/instructionset/mips_24kc

it would be great with a version for lede.

Hi guys,

LEDE will be merged back with OpenWrt. We will support it for sure.

Thanks,

I will rephrase previous post by serg_silver:

Can we get an update for currently existing NeoRouter Free Edition for Chaos Calmer or latest LEDE builds available?
I am not implying in any way developing new version of NeoRouter Free Edition just to support latest OpenWRT based builds (although that would be nice), I am asking if currently available version 2.3.1.4360 can be rebuild to reflect changes in dependencies and packet managers for latest OpenWRT builds.

If that could not be done for any reason - is there a possible workaround with exisiting NRFree packages to get them to work on LEDE (17.01.x) firmware? Maybe some packages should be pulled from archive to make it work?

P.S. I have managed to run properly BB version of NeoRouter on Chaos Calmer firmware, so in my book it can be done on LEDE if all dependencies are met and packages appear normal to OpenWRT/LEDE firmware.

Just giving JIaroJIy4's question a quarterly bump regarding and information about whether or not a Chaos Calmer release for the NeoRouter Free product is being considered. I am aware that there is a Chaos Calmer release for the Mesh product.

Thanks!
