I've just spent a few hours installing NeoRouter on my SOHO Umbuntu servers (mostly 9.04), and came across a weird problem.

Each one installed fine, and would join/sign-in to the domain no problem. But each one would report there is no computer to add. A quick check revealed that each one was assigning itself the same IP (10.0.0.2), which was the IP assigned to the first Ubuntu 9.04 client i added. After playing for a while, i have found that in the Client.xml file, the MAC address field is blank ("00:00:00:00..."). So, i stopped the nrservice, pasted the correct MAC address into the Client.xml, restarted nrservice and re-logged into the Domain/VPN using nrclientcmd. After doing that, i was able to 'addcomputer' and it was correctly assigned a new IP as expected.

Has anyone else come across this? Is this a known bug? Did i "fix" it in the correct manner?

Incidently, i also installed the NeoRouter client on some CentOS and a Windows computer - no problems.

Cheers,
Robin

Hi Robina,

Can you try renaming eth12 to eth0? That should fix the issue for you.
