Hi,

First of all I'm not very specialised in network configuration etc.
I'm trying to be able to remote control my PC(with windows 7) from my android.
I installed the windows server and client.
Logging in on the client on my PC works fine, and I added my PC to the computer list. I logged in with the admin username and password that I setup and the IP of the PC.

But when I try to connect on the Android app, with the exact same login info as on the PC, it connects for a while "Signing in. Please wait..." but after a while it goes back to the login screen with the message
"Signin failed because connection to server cannot be established."
I am at home, connected to the same router.
I port forwarded port 32976 on my PCs IP too.

Another question is will I be able to remote control my PC using the 3G connection? And what IP will I need to login with then?

Hi camu,

Your steps look good. Since you can log on to the server from a NR client, I think you are pretty much close. Please double check the network connection from your Android phone. You can use WiFi to test first. The basic troubleshooting method is run a telnet from your phone to the NR server see if it works.

Yes. You can then remote access any remote computers in the VLAN. Basically you don't need to know the IP address of the remote computer. Once you log on to the server from your Android phone, you will see the computer list and choose the proper "Port Forward" option on the target computer. Then always connect to localhost:32973 from either ConnectBot or vnc/rdp clients.

hi there and thanks for the reply,

I watched one of the quick start video's
and found out I am able to login with 127.0.0.1 and with my PCs IP, 192.168.1.3, but I cannot login using my domain name(when logging in on my PC, on my android none of them work and I'm surely connected to the same router adnd have a internet connection)
Any reason for that?

Also I dont know what connectbot is... :geek: So far ive used nothing else but neorouter software.

Hi camu,

Seems like you haven't set "port forwarding" in your router to expose the listen port of the NR server. Once you set it up properly, you can use either NR domain name or the public ip of your router to log on. You can test your server status from the Dashboard site. https://www.neorouter.com/dashboard

Thanks,
