aggh, you're right, I mapped port 3389 TCP to PC1 and tested Remote Desktop from PC2 inside LAN using public IP, and failed

I'll test other settings outside LAN later, THX very much kevinz!

Kevin, after some further experimentation here are my conclusions: someway, not only router, but PC configuration is also important to use all Neorouter features; here is a list of equipment combinations and my results:

1 - your tutorial Dlink router + messed XP mediacenter PC = LAN connects only via local IP, no publicIP/ddns/domain
2 - your tutorial Dlink router + perfect XP pro PC = LAN connects only via local IP, no publicIP/ddns/domain
3 - no router + messed XP mediacenter PC = LAN connects only via local/public IP , no ddns/domain
4 - Netgear router + messed XP mediacenter PC: connects only via local/publicIP/ddns
5 - Netgear router + perfect XP pro PC: connects via local/publicIP/ddns/domain
